Online travel health questionnaire launched
Making preparation for healthy travel even easier CHROMIS has launched an online version of our Health questionnaire for international travel. Fill out the new form to send our travel doctor all the information needed to advise you on your travel health needs.
Medicare rebate arrives at CHROMIS
If you are entitled to a Medicare rebate, as part of your travel consultation, our EFTPOS machines now have software to enable the direct transfer of the rebate to your bank account. Please ask our reception staff at your next consultation.

JULY: New Clinical Occupational Medicine certification
Congratulations to Drs Mary McGinty and Puru Sagar for passing the examination for the Certificate in Clinical Occupational Medicine at Monash University in Melbourne.
FEB: UKOOA accreditation
Congratulations to Drs Mary McGinty and Puru Sagar who are now accredited to undertake medicals for the United Kingdom Offshore Oil and Gas Industry Association Ltd.

Authorised Health Professional appointments
Congratulations to both Drs Puru Sagar and Mary McGinty who have been appointed as Authorised Health Professionals for NSW Marine Pilots by NSW Maritime. They both completed their training, involving familiarisation of the marine pilot environment, on 25 and 26 November 2008.
CHROMIS staff now AS4308:2008 accredited
Congratulations to our all our staff who have recently undergone training and accreditation to the new AS4308:2008 Drug and Alcohol standard. We are now able to offer drug and alcohol testing at your worksite (for both your random as well as routine testing programs) in addition to testing at our offices in Maitland and Newcastle.
New Medical Review Officer certification
Congratulations to Drs Mary McGinty and Puru Sagar who have passed their certification exams set by the Medical Review Officer Certification Council in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Both Drs McGinty and Sagar are now certified as Medical Review Officers (MRO)s. MROs oversee the medical aspects of workplace drug and alcohol testing. In Australia, this will initially be undertaken by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) in a national testing program for the airline industry. Dr Sagar is also a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) within this program.
